Annette is gifted with the talent to advance coalitions, communities and organizations in the public eye using the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and Environmental Prevention Model. SPF consists of Assessment, Capacity, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. To support SPF, sustainability and cultural competency are key elements. The Environmental Prevention Model as developed by the Institute for Public Strategies, consists of prevention campaigns with Applied Data and Research, Intentional Community Organizing, Media Advocacy, Policy and Enforcement. The two models are very complimentary and work to support community change.
While working for the YMCA of Orange County, Annette wrote opinion articles for the LA Times Orange County and worked with several local radio and TV stations. She also wrote for the SDSU Daily Aztec, and has had several articles published for volunteers in community newspapers, industry publications and specialized media. While at the Institute for Public Strategies, a local nonprofit, she led the San Diego Countywide Media Advocacy project and supported Countywide Initiatives. Annette has a friendly approach that brings passion and advocacy to leverage outcomes for clients.
Annette's services include sending grant announcements, developing and reviewing proposals, outcome based projects, media advocacy, writing/launching press releases, and strategic planning. As principal of Annette Padilla Consulting, she founded the company in 2005 to take a client-focused approach to providing publications, training, TA and media services to coalitions, nonprofits and county governments.
